Ohio State basketball: Bronny James to make recruiting visit
Chris Holtmann is a fantastic recruiter. Some of the recruiting classes he’s brought to the Ohio State football program have been really solid. He brings in a top-ten class this year and currently has a top-five class for next year as well. Top talent wants to play in Columbus.
Perhaps the biggest recruit in name for the 2023 class is Bronny James. He is the son of LeBron James, perhaps the most famous basketball player in the entire world, and one of the game’s greatest to ever do it. His son is looking at colleges right now.
We told you that there were a few schools on his list and that the Ohio State basketball program made that list. Now, it seems that he will be taking a visit to check out campus, and the visit is soon. He will be on campus for the Ohio State football opener against Notre Dame on September 3rd.
I would assume that his dad would be with him while he’s on campus to check out the biggest non-conference game in the country this year. We know that LeBron is an Ohio State fan having grown up in Ohio. It remains to be seen if that’s enough to get his son to come to Columbus.
Looking at the recruiting class now, it’s already almost full. Holtmann has a four-person class at the moment. He only has room for one more. He is still sniffing around some other top prospects as well, so this may not be a cut-and-dried situation.
I’m sure Bronny will love campus. I’m interested to see how much better he can get this year as a high school kid. If he has a big year, he can up his recruiting profile. No matter what, he’s probably going to end up at a college somewhere. Heading straight to the G-League doesn’t seem likely.
It should be a fun day to be on campus for both Bronny and LeBron.
