The Ohio State football team kicks off its season in less than two weeks. Other teams start their season in just a few days. With that in mind, a lot of odds are being posted about awards. The big award that everyone cares about is the Heisman Trophy, given to the country’s best player.

C.J. Stroud has been talked about winning that award a lot this summer. It makes sense when you think about it. He was a finalist last year and there has only been one two-time winner of the Trophy in the history of college football, that of course belonging to Ohio State’s Archie Griffin.

You would think that makes Stroud the favorite. Indeed it does, according to WynnBET. In fact, they have him as the favorite at +190. Bryce Young and Caleb Williams are the only two other players close to him, sitting at +400 and +700 respectively.

Stroud should be the favorite based on what he did in the second half of 2021. He was electric, including setting a Rose Bowl record for passing yards and touchdowns. He should only be better this year with a full year of experience under his belt too.

Two other Ohio State football players have Heisman odds, but WynnBET has them as long shots. TreVeyon Henderson is sitting at +3000 odds and Jaxon Smith-Njigba is right behind him at +4000. It makes sense that both of them are far behind Stroud, but I don’t think they should be that far behind.

If Stroud were to win the Heisman, he would be the first Buckeye to win the award since Troy Smith won it back in 2006. He led Ohio State to a National Championship Game appearance as well. Stroud is looking for more of the same, but he wants to win the title.

If you live outside Ohio and are looking to make a bet on the Heisman, there are your odds for some Ohio State football players! Ohio people have to wait until next season to do it legally.
