Ohio State football announces captains for 2022 season
By Ryan Stano
This Ohio State football team has the chance to be a truly special one. They are one of the favorites to win the national championship, mainly because of how potent their offense is. The Buckeyes are also a close team, especially after what happened in the Spring.
For the 2022 season, the Buckeyes have announced their captains. There are six of them this year. While that is a large amount, it’s less than it has been in past years. These were voted on by the players, so you know they are well-respected throughout the locker room.
Kamryn Babb is one of the captains. He was also honored by his teammates and was chosen to wear the Block O on his jersey this season. As a fifth-year player who has faced a lot of adversity, this is another cool honor bestowed on him by his teammates.
Tommy Eichenberg is also a captain for this year. He is a senior and is likely going to be one of the starters at linebacker this season. Tyler Friday, a fifth-year senior who missed all of last year due to an injury, is also a captain. He’ll be rotated in on the defensive line this year.
C.J. Stroud is another captain. As the quarterback, he’s not just the leader of the offense but is also the leader of the entire team. He’s a junior and will be leaving for the NFL after this season to do great things for a professional organization as a high draft pick.
Cade Stover was also chosen as a captain. He’s a senior tight end and will likely be the starting tight end when the season starts. Kourt Williams is the final pick and is a bit of a surprise to be picked. He’s a junior and hasn’t played a ton of snaps. He might this year though.
There you have it; the captains for the 2022 Ohio State football team!
