What we hope to learn about the Ohio State basketball team during Bahamas trip
By Jacob Rhymer
Who will be the go-to scoring option for the Ohio State basketball team?
This revamped Ohio State basketball roster has some big shoes to fill when it comes to scoring. Having two guys like E.J. Liddell and Malaki Branham on the same team doesn’t happen very often. So who will step up and fill into their shoes as the go-to scoring threats for Ohio State next season?
If he’s healthy and can stay healthy, the main scorer will be Justice Sueing. In his first season at Ohio State he averaged 10.7 points per game and shot an efficient 49.1% from the field. There’s no doubt that Sueing can put that ball through the hoop, but it’s all about being healthy for him.
Zed Key will be the second scoring option, if not the first, because of his play inside. Holtmann loves to utilize the bigs on the inside. With that being said, Key will undisputedly be one of main scoring threats next season.
A third player I see being a scoring option is Tanner Holden. Like I mentioned above, Holden averaged 20 points per game last season! That’s very impressive whether you’re in a Power 5 conference or not. Holden could be a valuable piece to the offense next season.
There’s still a lot to learn about this Ohio State basketball team heading into this season. Hopefully their trip in the Bahamas goes well, and it gives us a little taste of what to expect from this Buckeye basketball team.
We’re still a few months away from the season starting, but we are slowly inching our way to the starting line. All this Buckeye basketball talk gets me excited for the season!
