What we hope to learn about the Ohio State basketball team during Bahamas trip
By Jacob Rhymer
How much of a leader can Zed Key be for the Ohio State basketball team?
Zed Key is the main percentage of scoring returning from last season’s team. For Ohio State to succeed next season he is going to have to be the force on the offensive end and the anchor on the defense.
With Liddell and Branham leaving for the NBA, other guys from last season transferring or graduating, and lingering injuries, that makes Zed Key the face of the team next season. The health of Justice Sueing is uncertain right now. We hope that he will be back and ready to roll after missing all of last season, but you have to be prepared for everything.
Key has been putting in a lot of work this offseason. A main goal of his was to improve his jump shot and help spread the floor even more. He can be dominate on the inside because of his strength, Key proved that last year. Developing a mid-range jump shot for Key could be lethal for opposing defenses next season.
For the Buckeye basketball team to succeed next season, a major part of that will be how well Key can perform on both ends of the floor. The main key will be how much of a leader he can be for the new guys coming in. Key is heading into his junior season and has seen an increase in his role each year he’s been at Ohio State. I can’t wait to see how Key will perform in this role as the leader, because I think he will take it and run with it.
Who will become the go-to scoring option next season?
