What we hope to learn about the Ohio State basketball team during Bahamas trip
By Jacob Rhymer
Which Ohio State basketball transfer will breakout next season?
We know how good the incoming freshman could be next season for Ohio State, but what about the transfers that were brought in? Holtmann brought in Tanner Holden from Wright State, Sean McNeil from West Virginia, and Isaac Likekele from Oklahoma State. All three are experienced players and will have big roles this upcoming season.
Sean McNeil is the most proven of any of the transfers that came in. He’s a graduate transfer from West Virginia and is known for his elite shooting ability. McNeil has mentioned he wants to do more than just shoot at Ohio State. The shooting part of his game is a nice addition to this roster with last season’s team lacked it significantly. If he can do more than just shoot this season, look out.
Tanner Holden has the best chance at being the player that breaks out next season. In his last season at Wright State he averaged 20 points per game and led the Raiders to an NCAA Tournament birth. Holden will likely be given the keys to run the offense next season. He has some big shoes to fill after Malaki Branham, but I think he will be just fine in this offense.
We’ve now talked about the incoming freshman and the transfers. What about some of the returning players?
