The Ohio State football team has had a lot of players recognized during watchlist season so far. The majority of the players have been on the offensive side of the ball, although a few defensive players got recognized as well. Now, a specialist has been added to a preseason watchlist for the 2022 season.

That specialist is Noah Ruggles. Ruggles was an excellent kicker for the Buckeyes last season. Ruggles transferred in from North Carolina last year and won the starting job out of camp. He was stellar, hitting 20/21 of his field goals and all of his extra points. Because of that, Ruggles has been named to the Lou Groza Award for the best kicker in the country.

Ruggles comes into the season as the starting kicker and there’s no reason to think he’ll lose that job after what he did last year. It’s good that the Ohio State football team has a really good kicker, but it would also be good if they didn’t have to use him much this season.

Touchdowns are better than field goals, so hopefully he’s going to be kicking a lot more extra points than field goals in 2022. That means that the Buckeyes are scoring a lot of points and will likely be winning a lot of games in return. But if they do have to kick field goals, Ruggles is as reliable as they come.

dark. Next. Ohio State in the running for quarterback

I expect Ruggles to have as good of a year as he did last year. Even though he doesn’t have the strongest leg in the country, he’s pretty darn accurate. That matters more for the Buckeyes anyway.
