Many times, I’ve written recruiting is very fluid and things are always changing. This seems to be the case with a quarterback everyone had written off as an almost certain commitment to another school, but Ryan Day has continued to pursue. Well, things have changed and it looks like the Ohio State football team is very much back in the running to land Brock Glenn.

He has been considered a near lock to commit to Florida State and an announcement from Glenn seemed to be imminent. Because of this, fans and media alike have been focusing on Ohio State’s efforts to flip Austin Novosad from his commitment to Baylor. Glenn had become an afterthought to us, but he wasn’t to Day. The OSU boss continued to stay in touch and let the Memphis native know he is wanted by the Buckeyes.

Day not giving up on Glenn now seems to be paying off. 247Sports’ director of national recruiting, Steve Wiltfong, spoke to the young quarterback yesterday and now believes the Buckeyes are right there with Florida State. Those are the exact words used by Wiltfong: right there.

This is why, despite six other predictions of Glenn to FSU, the lead guy at 247 has not yet given his. Wiltfong thinks it is just too close to call right now. Ohio State has obviously made up an awful lot of ground in the last two weeks and appears to have a good chance to add Glenn to their 2023 class.

With Novosad’s situation seeming to be more up in the air each day, I don’t doubt Day turned up the wick on Glenn’s recruiting. At the end of June, the thinking was Novosad was ready to commit to the Buckeyes. Then his parents’ alma mater, Texas A&M, offered him a scholarship-he considers them his dream school.

A few weeks later, Notre Dame jumped into the fray as well. He visited the Irish on Tuesday and also has upcoming visits to A&M and Baylor. He recently took a big jump in 247’s rankings and is now the eleventh-rated quarterback (he was number fourteen previously). Wiltfong believes Novosad will ultimately decide to remain with Baylor.

Glenn is a four-star player who is a top-twenty quarterback in 247Sports’ rankings. He has not indicated when a decision may be coming, but I think the longer this goes, the better chance the Ohio State football team has of getting a commitment.
