Ohio State Football: Three bold predictions for C.J. Stroud in 2022

C.J. Stroud will win the Heisman Trophy while playing for the Ohio State football team.

While I did mention this might be the boldest prediction of any on this list, oddsmakers don’t see it that way. In fact, Stroud is the current favorite to win the Heisman according to WynnBET. He is ahead of last year’s winner Bryce Young, and Caleb Williams, who are the only two players near him odds-wise.

The reason I think it’s the boldest prediction is the fact that the Buckeyes haven’t had a Heisman winner since Troy Smith back in 2006. It’s not something that is common for the Ohio State football team. They’ve had plenty of finalists since then, but not any winners.

Stroud has a great shot because Young would have to have a truly insane season to win it for the second time because there has only been one two-time Heisman trophy winner ever. Of course, we know that is Ohio State football legend, Archie Griffin.

Williams will be the prime competition for Stroud in this endeavor. He has a lot of hype around him as well, which is something you need if you want to win this award. Preseason hype helps drive the train for a lot of winners. Stroud has a decent amount of hype too, but William’s might have the most.

If Ohio State does win the national title, then Stroud winning the Heisman shouldn’t be a surprise or a stretch. The best player on the best team is typically the guy that comes away with the Trophy. So if my earlier prediction comes through, this one very well could as well.

Those are my three bold predictions for Stroud this season. I can’t wait to see if these end up being right or not.
