Ohio State basketball: Buckeyes make the final 3 of a top recruit

The Ohio State football team isn’t the only team in Columbus that’s hot on the recruiting trail. The Ohio State basketball team made the final three for a highly rated recruit in the 2023 class.

Five-star small forward Scotty Middleton has cut his list to three and Ohio State remains in the mix of trying to land the talented wing, along with Seton Hall and UConn. Middleton plans to make his final decision on what school he will be attending in 2023 on August 6th.

Middleton is one of the best two-way players in the 2023 class. At 6’6″ and really athletic, he can score on all three levels. He reminds me of Malaki Branham for how well he can score, and we all know how he turned out. Middleton gets to his spot and elevates over any defender with a smooth jump shot. Having someone that can do just about anything on offense is always a huge bonus.

He is very solid on the defensive end of the floor, and his long arms allow him to be. He can disrupt opposing offenses with his lengthy arms by getting steals and being active in passing lanes. Being an elite two-way player is very effective and will definitely get him on the floor wherever he decides to go to school.

Chris Holtmann is trying to follow up one of the top recruiting classes the Ohio State basketball program has had with another loaded one. Landing Scotty Middleton would be a big addition to the 2023 class that already has four-star shooting guard George Washington III and four-star center Austin Parks.

Middleton has been a top priority in recruiting for the Buckeye basketball team for a while now. Holtmann and his coaching staff have been pushing hard to try and land this elite five-star wing. I haven’t seen any crystal ball predictions on Middleton yet, but we will find out soon if he will be a Buckeye.

Be on the lookout on August 6th for Middleton’s announcement of where he will be taking his talents. Hopefully, Holtmann can land another big-time recruit.
