Ohio State Football is already winning
By Ryan Stano
The 2021 season finished with the Ohio State football team winning the Rose Bowl against Utah in one of the most entertaining games of the entire season. It was a good way to finish off a season that had fallen short of expectations for the Buckeyes.
Heading into the 2022 season, the Buckeyes are already winning again. While they may not be winning on the field yet because games haven’t started for the 2022 season, they are winning where it arguably matters almost as much. That’s on the recruiting trail.
After adding another great tight end to the class, the Ohio State football program once again has the top recruiting class for 2023. If that ranking were to hold, it would be the first time in program history that the Buckeyes would have the number one class in the country.
Day isn’t just winning on the recruiting trail though. He’s winning in his own locker room as well. He showed an immense amount of leadership by helping Harry Miller come out and share the story of his mental struggles. Everyone in the locker room knows that Day will always have their backs.
It’s been an important offseason for the Buckeyes and a lot of things have happened already. The coaching staff has changed, the roster has changed, and more recruits have been brought in. All in all, it’s been a very good offseason in my mind for the program.
The offseason isn’t over yet though. Ohio State still has time to land some more recruits in what is shaping up to be a fairly large recruiting class. Opening weekend is just around the corner though. September is not that far away. Fall practice is starting next month.
Winning now is great, but winning in the Fall is more important. Winning now sets up wins in the Fall though.
