The Ohio State Football program has bene fighting with Notre Dame all summer to have the number one recruiting class in the country for the 2023 class. It seems that every day the rankings change because of a new commitment. The rankings changed again today in a good way for the Buckeyes.

That’s because they landed another commitment today. Jelani Thurman, a tight end from the state of Georgia, has decided to attend Ohio State. Thurman is a four-star prospect and is the 9th-best tight end in the country. He chose Ohio State over Michigan State and Auburn.

Thurman stands at 6’5 and 230 pounds. He’s a big-bodied tight end that can be a weapon in the red zone because of his ability to make contested catches. This is the type of tight end that Ryan Day wants to have because it gives the Buckeyes another weapon close to the goal line.

Thurman has some good blocking skills too, although he needs to get a little better with that. Nonetheless, he shows good potential and could be a really good tight end with some good coaching. He’ll only grow stronger as well once he gets to college.

With his commitment, the Buckeyes now have two tight ends for the 2023 class. It also lifts Ohio State back to first in the rankings as I mentioned before. The Ohio State Football program now has 19 commitments for 2023 in what will be a pretty large class when all is said and done.

Next. Most of offensive line could leave after 2022. dark

The Buckeyes will keep going hard on the recruiting trail as the summer winds down. This could end up being the best class in program history if things keep going on the trajectory they are on right now. Things are looking great for this program and it should be another great season in 2022.
