The Ohio State football team is going to be one of the favorites to win the national championship this season. They have the talent and the coaching to do so. Whether or not the execution is going to be there is still a question. What shouldn’t be a question is their motivation.

This should be one of the more motivated Ohio State football teams in recent memory after what happened last year. They lost two games that they had no business losing, including a game to TTUN. It was the first time the Buckeyes have lost to them in a decade.

Motivation alone won’t get the Buckeyes where they want to be. It certainly will help with their mentality though. Ohio State was too soft of a team last season, and that’s why they ended up losing the games that they did. This year, that shouldn’t be an issue.

The Buckeyes will have to be tougher at the line of scrimmage than they were last year, but you can bet that the players on both the offensive and defensive line will be motivated to be better than they were in 2021. Justin Frye and Larry Johnson will help with that.

We’ll see how the Buckeyes are able to respond. If they can’t have a better year this year, then that’s a serious indictment on Ryan Day’s coaching. That’s why I expect the Buckeyes to be better. I have total faith in Day’s coaching. I think he’s an excellent coach.
