Ohio State basketball: Branham and Liddell make Summer League debuts

With the NBA Summer League underway, the two former Ohio State basketball standouts who got drafted have made their debuts in the summer league. Both guys are still trying to figure out their roles with their new teams. This is the perfect time for them to get their feet wet in the NBA and improve on their game so they get the much deserving playing time.

The NBA Summer League is for drafted rookies to improve their game and get familiar with the system of the team that drafted them. These drafted rookies are accompanied by undrafted rookies and second-year players that are trying to develop their game and find their way onto an NBA roster.

Malaki Branham and E.J. Liddell both heard their names called on draft night. Branham in the first round at pick 20 by the San Antonio Spurs, and Liddell in the second round at pick 41 by the New Orleans Pelicans. They are preparing for their first NBA seasons with their new teams now by joining their NBA Summer League rosters in Las Vegas.

Both of the former Ohio State stars have played in their first NBA Summer League game. Let’s take a look at how Malaki Branham and E.J. Liddell have done during their first of many NBA minutes.
