Ohio State Football lands another 4-star recruit
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program continues the strong recruiting that they’ve done this summer. They have landed multiple high-level recruits in the 2023 class. Early in the summer, it was a lot of guys on the offensive side of the ball, now they’re starting to load up on defense now too.
Ohio State landed another four-star recruit today in defensive lineman Jason Moore. Moore is from DeMatha Catholic in Maryland. He’s actually rated as the best defensive lineman in the state of Maryland. When you look at his tape, you see why he gets that rating.
Moore has the perfect size up front too, standing at 6’6 and 255 pounds. He’s a good player right off the ball, getting off the snap very quickly. Not only that, but his speed is too much for a lot of offensive linemen to deal with. He also does a good job of getting low and using his leverage.
Moore has all the tools to grow and be even better than he is now. Once he has Larry Johnson coaching him, he has the chance to truly be an elite defensive lineman. Even though he’s only a four-star, he can certainly play like a five-star once he gets to Columbus.
The Buckeyes do a great job of developing defensive linemen. It’s one of the things that the Ohio State football program is known for. Guys like Moore are how the Buckeyes stay one of the elite programs in all of college football. Ohio State needs to keep recruiting guys like this.
Adding Moore has made the Buckeyes go back up to first in the 2023 recruiting rankings. They retake that lead from Notre Dame. It’s a battle they will keep fighting the rest of the summer and into the Fall.
