Before you know it, it will be football season once again. The Ohio State football program is hard at work trying to get better before the season. We know they come back with a ton of talent. Others seem to recognize all of that talent that the Buckeyes return as well.

Four Buckeyes have been named to Walter Camp’s preseason All-American Teams. Jaxon Smith-Njigba and TreVeyon Henderson were named to the First Team, while Dawand Jones and Noah Ruggles were named to the Second Team. Those awards seem fair to me.

These are the first of the preseason awards to be doled out. There will be more preseason All-American Teams that will be named once late July and August roll around. These four players are likely to make more of those preseason teams as well.

Smith-Njigba is probably the best or second-best receiver in the country. It makes sense that he is on the First Team. Henderson being on there surprises me a bit, but only because I didn’t think he was going to get the recognition nationally that he gets here in Columbus.

Jones has a chance to do some really sold things this year. He’s trying to raise his draft stock with a great year at tackle. If he can do so, he might be able to push himself into that first-round talk once the season ends. Physically, he’s got all of the tools you would want.

Ruggles was solid for Ohio State last year. I can’t really complain about him and I expect more of the same from him this year. He’s a guy that won’t miss kicks and can win you a game if it comes down to a field goal late. He was a great transfer addition last season.

All of these guys should have a great 2022. I’d be shocked if they didn’t.
