Ohio State Football player rejects TTUN attempt to steal him
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program has been on fire in recent days on the recruiting trail. They have landed commitments from three top-50 receivers in the last few days and now have a total of four receivers for the 2023 class. That’s a lot of receivers for one recruiting class.
Apparently, TTUN thought that was too many receivers as well and tried to capitalize on all of the hoopla. Bryson Rogers, the lowest-rated receiver commit that the Buckeyes have, was the target of some poaching. Rogers is still very good mind you as he is also a four-star prospect.
Rogers took to social media to explain the situation. Apparently, TTUN’s wide receiver coach hit him up twice yesterday after the news that the Buckeyes had secured a commitment from Noah Rogers in hopes of starting a conversation about flipping him.
Unfortunately, he has deleted the tweet so the text version below is what I transcribed from his Twitter account before he deleted it.
"well, ttun and their staff must not get the memo that I am committed to The Ohio State University. mr Ron Bellamy / the wide receiver coach there is a prime example here shown below. lost a bit ?needs help? i have no clue. silly goose. Im a buckeye for life. #gobucks"
In the text message, Rogers shows Bellamy texting him twice “What’s up B”. Rogers ignores the first text and then responds to the second text with simply “go bucks”, adding a nut emoji too. He basically told Bellamy to kick rocks and go away because he’s not changing his commitment.
Rogers clearly wants to play for the best receiver coach in the country in Brian Hartline and wants to go against the best receivers too. Competition makes everyone better. It’s good to see Rogers values that. I wish he would have kept the tweet up though. It’s very funny.
