The Ohio State football team might have two lockdown corners

Safety was a big issue for the Buckeyes last year. That was the reason why teams were racking up deep passes and some lofty passing numbers. It certainly wasn’t because of the corners on the outside, because both were good. One was outstanding and one could be outstanding this year.

That player is Cameron Brown. Brown missed most of the 2020 season after tearing his Achilles against Penn State in the second game of the season. He played all of the games last season but clearly took a while to get back to where he was prior to the injury.

Even with that slow start, Brown still played pretty well. He has a stud corner on the opposite side of him in Denzel Burke, so more teams are going to be throwing at him this year. A fully healthy Cam Brown should be more equipped to deal with that this year.

Brown only has one interception in his career so far and that came last season. He did a pretty good job of keeping his man in front of him in 2021. But if he takes a leap now that he’s fully healthy going into 2022, the secondary for the Buckeyes becomes a lot scarier.

The Ohio State football team needs an improved defense to contend for a title. Unless that happens, they won’t be much better than they were last season. Brown and Vincent are two key guys that have a lot of talent and can help with that improvement.
