The offseason is the time to get better. Everyone within the Ohio State football program is trying their best to improve from last season. The team knows that they were not up to standard in 2021. Losing two games, especially one of them to TTUN, is not acceptable.

Ryan Day made a lot of changes to the coaching staff to make sure that his players go the best coaching possible to help their development. Most of those changes were on the defensive side of the ball, but there needs to be some improvement on offense as well.

Looking back at last year, there are plenty of players who need to step up and improve if this team wants to be a factor in the national title picture in 2022. I’m looking at three specific players who should be able to improve and take a big leap to help this team.

If these guys are able to make that leap up to the next level, Ohio State very well could be the hardest team to beat in the entire country. They have so much talent across the board. They just have to play up to their full potential to help do so.

Julian Fleming has not been able to impact the Ohio State football team very much in his career so far. He has been limited because of injuries. He finally got a decent amount of snaps in the Rose Bowl last year against Utah and is said to be fully healthy now.

Fleming is the former number one recruit in the country for his class, so you know he has immense talent. The thing he needs to improve on is his availability. You can’t impact the team if you are always on the sidelines nursing an injury.

With Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave gone, there will need to be two receivers who step up in their absence. Fleming has a great opportunity to be one of those guys. His competition to see the field will be very stiff though. He’s got some great guys fighting for that opportunity as well.

The next guy on this list is also someone who was highly touted as a recruit that has been beset by injuries.
