The Ohio State football team might be on the cusp of finally getting their first five-star recruit of the 2023 class. While the Buckeyes have the eighth-ranked class in the country, they have yet to receive a commitment from a five-star prospect. That could change Monday.

That’s because Carnell Tate, a five-star receiver, is set to commit on Monday at 1 pm. Tate is widely thought to be heading to Columbus to play for the Ohio State football program. Monday’s announcement will give us a definitive answer on that.

This is the time of year when a lot of commits happen. Prospects attend camps and take visits and commit to programs in the summer. Ohio State knows that, so they aren’t panicking about their recruiting ranking yet. There’s still plenty of time in this cycle to get some great players.

Tate is one of the best players in the country. He would be yet another stud that Brian Hartline has brought into the wide receiver room. Hartline has established himself as the best recruiter in the country when it comes to wide receivers. Tate would be the second receiver in this class for Ohio State.

Tate is currently listed as the third-best receiver in the country for the 2023 class. By the time to rankings finish up, he could end up being the best or second-best receiver. The Buckeyes are in on those prospects as well. It’ll be interesting to see how many of them they can end up with.

We’ll let you know what Tate decides to do as soon as he makes his announcement. Hopefully, it will be a good day for the Buckeyes.
