Ohio State Football offers son of a former NFL player
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program continues to host its camp this week for young prospects and kids. So far, it has been a very successful camp with the first day going off without a hitch. We told you about one Ohio State recruit turning heads already, and now another prospect gets a Buckeye offer.
That prospect is Chris Henry Jr., the son of the late Chris Henry. Henry is probably best known for being a receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals. Since his passing, Henry Jr. has been raised by Henry’s former teammate Adam “Pacman” Jones. Henry Jr. was definitely been turning heads.
In fact, he did so well on Monday that Brian Hartline decided to offer him a scholarship. Henry Jr. is a high school freshman at the moment and is a member of the class of 2026. He’s still got a long way before college, but his potential clearly wowed the Buckeye coaching staff.
Henry Jr. seems to have a lot of his father’s skills. Granted, these are just drills that these kids are running through right now and there are no pads on, but the talent is clearly there. Henry Jr. also gets some coaching tips and pointers to make himself even better at his young age.
It will be interesting to see how he’s able to develop his skills over the next four years. He will certainly get scholarship offers from other schools as well. But with the Ohio State football program’s track record of being able to develop receivers, the Buckeyes have to be high on his list.
We’ll keep you advised on how the rest of the camp goes throughout the remainder of the week!
