The Ohio State football program has been really good at recruiting for the last decade. That’s why they have been one of the most successful programs in all of college football. Recruiting top prospects has been the main reason why they have won as many games as they have.

Taking a look at the 2023 recruiting class right now, the Buckeyes are 5th in the country in the recruiting rankings. Even with such a high ranking, the Buckeyes have added a single five-star prospect to the class yet. Why is that? Is there a specific reason they haven’t gotten the top guys yet?

The answer to this question is pretty simple; don’t panic. The Ohio State football team is projected to land a few five-star kids in this class, they just haven’t made their commitments yet. I would be absolutely flummoxed if the Buckeyes didn’t end up landing multiple five-stars in this class.

I am surprised that none of those guys have committed yet though. I understand wanting to make sure that you are making the right decision for your future and taking your time with it. But I am surprised that none of these young men have decided Ohio State is that place yet.

Ultimately, this is not an issue that Ohio State football fans should be worried about. Now, if the same thing is still true once July rolls around, then we might have a bigger issue to talk about. Right now though, patience is in order for Buckeye fans.
