Former Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer did not have himself a good time as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was perhaps the most troubled NFL coaching hire since Bobby Petrino left the Falcons high and dried at the beginning of the 2010s.

Not only did Meyer get fired from Jacksonville, but his issues are still plaguing the team almost six months after the season has ended. Former Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo is suing the Jags for more than $3.5 million alleging harassment on the job by Meyer affected his performance.

According to Lambo, constant pressure and threats from him affected his performance which ultimately led to him getting cut from the team. He is seeking damages equal to his 2021 salary as well as other punitive damages from the Jaguars in the lawsuit.

It’s wild how poorly Meyer’s short tenure went with the Jaguars. It only lasted 13 games and it’s still causing Jacksonville issues. Even though this is more bad PR for Meyer, this lawsuit doesn’t seem like it has much validity. Coaches put pressure on players all the time to perform better. His getting cut for being bad isn’t a viable defense.

What part of the suit might be viable is the fact that he alleges being hit on the job, which he alleged Meyer kicked him, is illegal under Florida law. That might be true, but that’s not the central part of the lawsuit which is why I think it might not really help him that much.

dark. Next. Can OSU produce two first-round WRs again?

What do I know though? I’m not a lawyer. I have no idea what’s going to happen with this. What I do know is that it’s a good thing the Ohio State football program doesn’t have to deal with his nonsense anymore. They are in good hands with Ryan Day.
