The Ohio State Football team had two receivers go in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. They really had three if you count the fact that Jameson Williams only spent one year at Alabama. That was something that had never been done before when all three got taken in consecutive picks.

Looking ahead to the 2022 season and the receivers that they have on their roster now, it’s clear that they have at least one first-round wide receiver. That will be Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who is the favorite to be the number one receiver off the board in next year’s Draft.

But do the Buckeyes have another one? Julian Fleming would have to be the guy to step up and take that role. He was formally the number one receiver recruit in the country out of high school. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to live up to that hype yet.

The reason for that is because of injuries. Fleming has been hit with a slew of them. Even when he got a shot to get some real snaps in the Rose Bowl he was limited because of a shoulder injury. He came into the Spring healthy and looking to make an impact though.

In order for teams to even consider Fleming being a first-round talent next year, he would have to have an unbelievable year. He’s got the quarterback to be able to help him with those numbers, but he would also have to stay healthy enough to stay on the field.

Not only that, but Fleming isn’t guaranteed a starting spot either, JSN and Marvin Harrison Jr. will be starters for sure. Whether the other spot goes to Fleming or Emeka Egbuka remains to be seen. He’s going to have to work really hard to come out for the Draft after this year.

Next. Ohio State Football won't get hammered by new NIL penalties. dark

I doubt it’s possible, but Brian Hartline is a miracle worker so it still could happen.
