The Ohio State football team doesn’t have a chance to ease into the 2022 regular season. Most years, they have a few easy teams that they can play early in the year to start out their non-conference schedule so they can kind of ease into the year.

That is not the case this season. They will face Notre Dame to start out the year on September 3rd. That means that they are going to need to be ready to go immediately. They are still trying to learn a new defense and make it seem like second nature. That takes time.

Now that the NFL Draft is over, the coaching staff for the Buckeyes can focus their full attention on preparing for the season and the Fighting Irish. They don’t have to make appearances or do interviews to help outgoing players any longer. Now they can fully focus on the season ahead.

I don’t think that the coaches were ever letting the preparing for next season slip during Draft time, but it’s nice to know that the distractions are gone. It’s all about getting these players that are on the roster bigger, faster, and stronger for next season so they can be better.

I would expect everyone on the roster to have some sort of improvement. The Ohio State football team will be highly-rated to begin the year and will start the season as one of the favorites to win the national championship. Proper preparation is needed to get that done.

dark. Next. Why low draft numbers shouldn't worry Ohio State fans

With Spring ball done and the Draft a thing of the past, we only have recruiting to get us through the summer before the Buckeyes take the field again. I can’t lie, I’m a little bummed.
