The Ohio State football team was expecting to have a t least a couple of people taken Friday night in the second round of the NFL Draft. Unfortunately, they didn’t have anyone taken them. But the first guy to go on Friday was a good one.

That player was Nicholas Petit-Frere who went to the Titans with the fourth pick in the third round. Petit-Frere goes to a team that needs some offensive line help. He’s a guy that could possibly compete for a starting job as a rookie depending on what tackle spot they see him at.

Petit-Frere had mixed reviews coming out of Ohio State on whether or nort being could play left tackle. He’s definitely good enough to start at right tackle, but it’s unsure if he has the length to start at left tackle. It’ll be interesting to see how they view him as a prospect.

He’s probably going to compete as right tackle with Taylor Lewan still at left tackle for the Titans. I’d be surprised if they tried to put NPF at left tackle this soon. The Titans probably see him as their long-term right tackle. They’ve been searching for that guy since they let Jack Conklin go.

Petit-Frere was expected to be the first Buckeye taken tonight. I’m a little surprised that it took so long, but it eventually got done. He’s a good fit for a run-first team in Tennessee. He should thrive there for years to come.
