The Ohio State football program had itself a very good night in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Thursday night saw three former Buckeye receivers get drafted in a row, all in the top-12. Needless to say, it was a big night if you were a Buckeye receiver.

Of those three players that got drafted last night, which of them got drafted into the best situation? Garrett Wilson was drafted by the Jets, Chris Olave got selected by the Saints, and Jameson Williams was taken by the Lions. Those are our options.

In my opinion, Olave wound up in the best situation. Not only does he get paired with former Buckeye receiver Michael Thomas, but his team is best set up to win now. The Saints can still contend to make the playoffs this upcoming season.

I think the Saints having Thomas back next year and adding Olave gives the offense a whole new dimension. If they can improve the defense a little bit, New Orleans should be right in the thick of things when December and January roll around. They are a good football team.

Both the Jets and the Lions are still pretty far away from being a playoff team, although I like what the Jets did with both of their first-round picks. I think they are closer to being a winning team than the Lions are, but Williams will certainly help kickstart that effort.

All three of these guys make their respective teams better by just being added to the roster. I would expect all of these teams to have better offensive numbers because of these receivers. That should lead to an increase in wins.

I’ll definitely be watching all of these guys’ careers from this season and beyond. They all should turn about to be really good players.
