It’s been almost two weeks since former Ohio State football player Dwayne Haskins was tragically killed after being hit by a dump truck. We didn’t have a lot of details as to what happened that terrible morning, but we do now that the 911 call has been released.

Andy Slater of FoxSports 640 was able to obtain the 911 call that Haskins’ wife made. According to her, Haskins had been walking on the side of the highway to get gas for his car that was stranded on the side of the road. She said he’d call her back after he was done getting it.

Haskins never called back, so his wife called 911. There was also another call in which someone reported the dump truck striking Haskins on the highway. If you want to hear either call, it’s below. I caution you that it may be extremely hard to listen to.

At least we finally know why Haskins was on the side of the highway to begin with. This is the scenario that makes the most sense. Ohio State football fans and his friends can finally have closure as to what actually happened out there on that Florida morning.

The Buckeyes paid tribute to Dwayne Haskins last weekend during their Spring Game by wearing helmet decals, painting the field with his initials, a moment of silence, and showing a tribute video right before halftime. All of the tributes were extremely nice to see.
