Ohio State Football: Spring Game already bringing in commitments
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program had plenty of recruits on hand for their Spring Game on Saturday. It was a great weekend of football and selling the program. Those efforts have already resulted in some commitments to the program from some nice-looking prospects.
One of those prospects is three-star receiver Bryson Rodgers. Rodgers is from the state of Florida and stands at 6’2 and 170 pounds. While that’s pretty skinny for that height, the Buckeyes will certainly help him gain some weight and strength once he gets to Columbus.
Rodgers is not the highest-rated recruit that Brian Hartline has ever landed, but he is someone with some potential. At the very least, he is someone who could possibly be a red zone threat because of his height. He isn’t the only recruit that decided to commit to the Buckeyes today.
Ohio State also got a commitment from four-star cornerback Dijon Johnson. Johnson is also from Florida, near the Tampa region. He had offers from all of the major programs, including Oklahoma, USC, Alabama, and Auburn. The Ohio State football program won out though.
Johnson stands at 6’1 and 190 pounds. He is someone that can cover anywhere on the field and can be put in any kind of coverage. The Buckeyes need quality corners and Johnson has a great chance to be the next great corner at Ohio State because of his physical skills.
These are just the first two commitments to happen after the Spring Game. With how many recruits were there, from both the 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes, I would expect more commitments to occur soon. That’s good news for Buckeye fans.
Of course, we will let you know of any other commitments that happen. I would be surprised if we didn’t get another one or two within the next couple of weeks.
