New details emerge about Dwayne Haskins’ death

The Ohio State football world, and the football world in general, was rocked this morning when news circulated that Dwayne Haskins had died. He was just 24 years old and had a lot of life left to live. New details have emerged as to how Haskins ultimately was killed.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Haskins was trying to cross I-595 very early this morning. He was trying to cross oncoming traffic and was struck by a dump trunk and was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unclear why he was trying to cross the highway.
It also remains unclear why Haskins was walking on the highway so early in the morning. Even as these details have emerged, there is still so much that we don’t know about Haskins’ tragic passing. There may be details that we never fully learn about.
Haskins was one of the greatest quarterbacks in Ohio State football history. He still holds several records at the school and was a great player all around. This was supposed to be the year that he could show coaches he deserved another shot at being a starting NFL quarterback.
Sadly, he did not get that chance. Instead, we are left with a lot of questions and not enough answers. It’s just an incredibly sad situation. No matter what he was or wasn’t able to do at the NFL level, he was a great Buckeye and will always be remembered as such.
