Ohio State synchronized swimming is most dominant team ever
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State synchronized swimming team may not be the most followed team that the Buckeyes field, but they are by far the most successful. In fact, I’m willing to call them the most dominant college sports team in the history of college sports.
That’s because of their insane amount of national championships. The Ohio State synchronized swimming team won another national title today. That makes it 33 (!!!) national championships for this team. They have won 33 in a total of 44 tries for the team.
That insane .750 winning mark is so insane that I can’t even really fully comprehend it. They win 75% of the national championships they try to get. Not games, NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. That’s insane!! No other college program has the same sort of success.
Not only do they keep winning national titles, but they do it under an enormous amount of pressure. No Buckeye team wants to be the team that doesn’t win it all. This program has a ridiculous standard of winning that is incredibly hard to live up to.
This is the second women’s team in the span of a week to win a national championship for the Buckeyes. The Ohio State women’s hockey team won a national title last weekend after beating Minnesota-Duluth in the national title game. Now, the synchronized swimming team has done it again.
I’m not going to pretend that I’m an expert at synchronized swimming, but I bet these Buckeyes are the favorites to win it all again next year too.
