Ohio State Women’s Hockey makes Frozen Four

The Ohio State Women’s Hockey team will be making a trip to the Frozen Four after a thrilling victory yesterday in the quarterfinals.

The Ohio State women’s hockey team has punched its ticket to the Frozen Four after an exciting win over Quinnipiac yesterday. The Buckeyes were able to beat them 4-3 in double overtime to send them to the Frozen Four. Ohio State is ranked number 1 and Quinnipiac was 7th.

With the win, the Buckeyes will take on Yale Friday night at 7 pm for a chance to go to the National Championship Game. The winner of that game would take on the winner of Northeastern and Minnesota Duluth on the other side of the bracket. That game would be on Sunday night.

The women’s hockey team has played well all season and is now just one step away from playing for a national title. They are 30-6 this season and are the top-ranked team in the country. There’s a reason they got the number one seed in the Tournament this year.

Ohio State has qualified for the NCAA Tournament three of the last four years that it has been played. It was canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic. This is the furthest the Buckeyes have ever gotten though. They’ve lost in the semifinals the other times they’ve made it too.

We’ll see if the Women can finally break through and make that National Championship game when they take on Yale Friday night. Hopefully they not only win that one but the next one as well and are crowned national champions.
