The Ohio State basketball team seemed like they were going to get a double-bye in the Big Ten Tournament easily at the start of the month. In fact, it looked inconceivable that the Buckeyes weren’t at least going to be one of the top four seeds in the conference.

Now, that double-bye is something they have to scratch and claw for. They play TTUN today for the second time. The Buckeyes already have beaten TTUN up in Ann Arbor. This will be senior day for Ohio State, and several players will be honored before the game.

Ohio State has to win this game to have any shot of getting that double-bye. A loss today ends that dream. Even if the Buckeyes win today, they still need additional help to get that double-bye. They need Iowa to lose to Illinois later tonight, which very well could happen.

At this point, Ohio State has to just focus on what they can control, which is playing their best against TTUN and coming away with a win at home. Even though they’ve struggled over the last few weeks or so, they are the more talented team today.

It would be a massive failure for this Ohio State basketball team to not get a double-bye after how they started this Big Ten season. It would also keep them from getting some much-needed rest. The NCAA Tournament is just a couple of weeks away, and the Buckeyes have played a lot of games in a short amount of time.
