The next guy I want to talk about is Richard Young. He’s a five-star running back from the state of Florida and is listed as the number one running back in the country. Imagine if Tony Alford could bring him in to play in a couple of years once TreVeyon Henderson leaves for the NFL?

Young is really considering just three schools; Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State. Those are all big boys. The Buckeyes have a track record of recruiting the state of Florida very well, so they have a real chance to land this kid. The way they develop running backs helps too.

Young is a speed guy. He’s someone that can hit the hole and suddenly be gone. He’s not as strong as Henderson but has some moves that keep him from getting tackled. I like his stiff arm too. If Henderson wasn’t here already, he could fight for the starting job.

It’s going to be interesting to see who can land Young. All three programs he is considering have track records of developing NFL-caliber running backs. He took an unofficial visit to Columbus last October, so he’s at least seen the campus. He hasn’t done that with the other two schools yet.

Young would be another stud running back that the Ohio State football program can bring out on to the field to make an immediate impact. He’s someone that will be deeply coveted by all three of these big-time programs.

The final prospect I’m keeping my eye on in this 2023 class is another stud that Brian Hartline is really close to bringing into the wide receiver room.
