The Ohio State football team has been producing really good receivers over the last few years. A lot of credit goes to receivers coach Brian Hartline. Hartline has recruited and developed a number of great guys, including Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson who are both at the NFL Combine.

Those receivers are both no sure-fire first-round picks. Wilson was already going to be a first-rounder for sure based on the career he had. He was possibly the best receiver in college football this past season, although some others also have a claim to that as well.

Olave was a borderline first-round pick heading into the Combine. That should no longer be a question after the 40-time that Olave displayed in Indy. Speed was the one question that he had coming into the draft process. That should no longer be the case.

Olave ran a blazing fast 4.26 unofficial 40-yard dash. That’s insanely fast for a guy who was mainly known as a deep-ball guy that just tracks the ball well. It’s clear that Olave’s speed will push him into the first round, perhaps as far as the mid-first round.

Wilson also ran a ridiculously fast 40-yard dash. He ran an unofficially 4.37 on his run. He was known as the more complete receiver prospect of the two and did nothing to dispute that. His 40-time will just excite whatever team decides to take him in the first round.

I’m really intrigued to see what team decides to draft Olave. He’s going to be a really good pro too like Wilson will be. Both receivers will make instant impacts with whatever teams end up making them the newest member of their organization.

I’m sure more former Ohio State football players will put up silly numbers during this Combine. If they do, we’ll certainly let you know about it.
