The Ohio State football team is a lock to be a preseason top-10 team. They will more than likely be in the top 5. With so much talent returning on the offensive side of the ball, it’s hard not to get excited for what this team could possibly do next season. They always have emerging superstars.
The next emerging superstar for the Buckeye squad seems to be Marvin Harrison Jr. Harrison was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and is the son of a Hall of Famer. He was always expected to be good, but I think he’s going to be an elite receiver this year.
Harrison Jr. showed the world what he was capable of when he went off in the Rose Bowl. He finished the game with 6 catches for 71 yards and 3 touchdowns. Those touchdown catches showed that he can be a threat in the red zone with his big frame and soft hands.
While he doesn’t quite have the speed of his father, his catch radius might be bigger. He uses every inch of his frame to grab the ball and can make tough catches. He’s had a few in practice and in workouts that have made teammates stare in awe.
Harrison Jr. is going to be one of the starting receivers this season. The question is how many yards and touchdowns he can rack up. C.J. Stroud is going to be slinging it early and often this season, so Harrison should get the opportunity necessary to become the next great superstar at receiver.
The Ohio State football program just seems to keep churning out excellent receivers year after year. Harrison Jr. already has the look of another first-round pick that the Buckeyes will produce. Here’s hoping we get two great seasons before that happens.
