Ohio State Football: C.J. Stroud has a chance to be number one pick in the Draft
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team is going to have one of the best offenses in the country in 2022. They have a loaded wide receiver room, a stud running back, and one of the best quarterbacks in the country. C.J. Stroud has a chance to prove he can be the face of an NFL organization too.
Before the season starts, Stroud and Bryce Young come up as two of the best quarterbacks in the country. Both of them have a chance to be the number one pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Stroud has the better chance to do so if he wins a national title with the Buckeyes though.
The reason he would get a better look is that Alabama is a naturally more talented team than the Ohio State football team. Stroud would be elevating the rest of the team to play at a higher level than they are capable of if the Buckeyes end up winning a title.
Stroud has the tools to be that number one pick as well. He has the size, arm strength, and ability to get through his progressions. If he can improve his decision-making a little bit and maybe show the willingness to run every now and then, he should be at the top of a lot of NFL teams’ boards.
A lot of Ohio State’s success as a team hinges on how well Stroud plays as well. Coach Day won’t be calling plays to make Stroud the number one pick. He’s going to be calling plays that give his team the best chance to win. A lot of those plays will be involving Stroud though because he gives the team the best chance to win.
There’s no doubt that Stroud will be gone after this season. The only question is how high he will get drafted.
