Chase Young is perhaps the most dominant defensive player to ever lace it up for the Buckeyes. Would Ohio State retire his number?

Jeff Okudah was a really strong cornerback for the Buckeyes in multiple years. He is also one of the highest-rated recruits on this list. Okudah was a five-star kid out of Texas and was rated as the 8th-best player in the entire country in the class of 2017.

He certainly lived up to that billing. Okudah was strong in his play in all three years he was with the Ohio State football program. He finished his career with 83 tackles, 18 passes defended, and 3 interceptions, all of which came in his final season.

In that junior season, Okudah was named as a consensus All-American. Okudah was the true definition of a lockdown corner. Because he was so good, Ohio State could play man-to-man and know that his side of the field was locked down.

Okudah was also not flagged for a single pass interference call in that 2019 season. His strong play led him to be drafted number three overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, his NFL career has been marred by injuries so far. But that doesn’t take away from how great he was in college.

In my opinion, Okudah was the best cornerback of the Urban era. He was one of the best cornerbacks I’ve seen play period for Ohio State. His inclusion on this list was a no-brainer for me.

The next person on this list gets on because of his career achievements within the Ohio State program.
