Tayvion Galloway is a talented and versatile tight end prospect from the class of 2024 that has recently started to gain traction on the recruiting trail. The 6’6 sophomore has picked up notable scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Toledo, and others, including LSU and Michigan State within the last couple of days. It’s likely only a matter of time before the Ohio State football team gets into the mix as well.

Even though Ohio State hasn’t offered a scholarship to Galloway just yet, the program has been recruiting him since late last summer. He has formed a relationship with offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson and got a chance to visit Columbus when the Buckeyes beat Tulsa 41-20 in September. According to Eleven Warriors, Wilson told Galloway that Ohio State is interested in his athleticism, frame, and on-field performance.

“Me and coach Wilson’s relationship has gotten off to a good start. He is a really down to Earth guy which I like. Our first time talking was when I visited when they played Tulsa and he also recently came to one of my basketball games. He told me he liked my bend and athleticism,” Galloway told me in a recent interview. “I know they have a great education and are also a top program in the country. They breed great football players.”

The Chillicothe-product grew up an Ohio State football fan because of his family and friends but didn’t travel to Ohio Stadium until his visit last season. Galloway also took campus tours to Big Ten schools Indiana and Michigan in the fall, before checking out Penn State and Michigan State last week. There’s no doubt several other major programs will add the Unioto High School athlete to their list of 2024 targets as he continues to dominate on the field and on the court.

Galloway later discussed some of his goals going forward: “I want to be known as the best tight end in the nation and recognized for the work I put in. I believe I work harder than any other tight end and I strive to be the best. Not just at the high school level but beyond. I would love to have the opportunity to play basketball and football at the next level if possible. I feel basketball and football play hand in hand with footwork, being a big man, and playing physical.”
