Ohio State Football loses recruit to Georgia
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team had three prospects they were keeping their eye on today. They knew that they had two of them locked up, but were hoping to land Christen Miller also. Miller, a defensive tackle from the state of Georgia, decided that wasn’t going to happen.
Miller, a four-star product, decided to stay closer to home and picked Georgia over the Buckeyes. Miller would have been a nice addition to the recruiting class because of his size and quickness. Ultimately, he picked the national champs over everyone else.
This isn’t entirely unexpected for the Ohio State football program. They had made a hard push towards the end of Miller’s recruitment but weren’t counting on him to sign by any means. Adding him to this class would have been more of a bonus than anything else.
That pretty much wraps up National Signing Day for the Buckeyes. After Omari Abor and Carson Hinzman signed early this morning, Miller was the last remaining prospect to key an eye on. Now, they can just focus on the guys they have coming into the class now that it’s completely filled.
Ohio State started the day with the fifth-ranked class in the country. We’ll see where it ends up at the end of the day after some other schools still have some recruits they can nab. This class would have been ranked higher if Quinn Ewers hadn’t just used the Buckeyes for NIL money before heading to Texas.
At the end of the day, we’ll give you our full assessment of the class now that it’s fully intact and how it compares to other classes nationally and around the Big Ten. There’s still a lot that can happen around the conference, so I want to wait until Signing Day is over to give my full thoughts.
