Three recruits who should sign with Ohio State Football team on National Signing Day
By Ryan Stano
The first recruit we will talk about is Carson Hinzman. He is a four-star offensive lineman from the state of Wisconsin and is one of the highest-rated offensive linemen to ever leave the state. Ohio State was able to wrestle him away from the Badgers.
Initially, there was some concern that the Buckeyes might lose him when they fired offensive line coach Greg Studrawa. He was the one who recruited Hinzman and made him commit to the Ohio State football program. Now, very little anxiety exists regarding Hinzman.
That’s because Hinzman came out with a statement reaffirming his commitment to the program even after the Buckeyes hired Justin Frye as the new offensive line coach. He seems to not just love the coach he committed to, but the program as a whole.
I don’t expect any surprises with this one, especially after that strong statement. Hinzman should be a Buckeye and should be a good one at that. He has played every position in high school, but will likely be a guard or center. Both positions are positions that Ohio State needs depth in.
Hinzman is someone that could make an impact as soon as 2023. He likely will have to be used as a backup in 2022 after Ohio State has some returning linemen who are likely to start ahead of him. He’ll have a better opportunity to make an impact as a sophomore.
The next player on this list is the recruit where there is the most uncertainty and drama on National Signing Day.
