The NFL playoffs were full of former Ohio State football players making big plays this past weekend. In both the AFC and NFC Championship games, former Buckeyes were making an impact. Some of them even made the biggest plays in their game.

Cincinnati has five of them on their team. Joe Burrow is obviously the most prominent one, and he led the Bengals to win after being down 18 points. He had 250 yards passing to go along with 2 touchdowns and one interception. He also added 25 yards rushing too.

Vonn Bell made one of the most important plays of the entire game. He picked off Patrick Mahomes in overtime to give the Bengals the ball and set them up on the game-winning drive. He also added 6 tackles and had another pass knocked down.

Eli Apple held his own on Tyreek Hill in the second half. He ended up with 7 tackles of his own in this game. Sam Hubbard had two sacks in a row at the end of regulation that kept the Chiefs from scoring a touchdown to win the game too. He finished with 8 total tackles.

In the NFC Championship, Nick Bosa had a good game in a losing effort. He finished with 6 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He kept pushing the pocket and making Matthew Stafford move around in the pocket. It was all for naught though as the 49ers fell in the game.

Those five Buckeyes (including right tackle Isaiah Prince) will be playing in the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks. It’s good to see so many former Ohio State football players get a chance at a ring. It also helps the program recruit high school prospects as well.

If you don’t have any rooting interest in the Super Bowl, I suggest rooting for these former Buckeyes to have a good game!
