The Ohio State football team is looking forward to a new year of football in 2022. 2021 didn’t go exactly as they had planned, losing two games. They have already made a few changes to the coaching staff and more sound like they are coming based on what I’ve heard.

Ohio State needs to get better up front on the offensive line, specifically when it comes to the run game. That was an issue in both losses this year, and even sometimes in the wins. That falls at the feet of Greg Studrawa, who might be looking for a new position soon.

From what I’ve heard, Studrawa could be out the door soon. I haven’t been told that who the Buckeyes might be looking to replace him with, but I’ve heard that discussions about Studrawa’s future have taken place. It’s unclear when a move might be made.

The Buckeyes might be adding someone to the defensive staff fairly quickly though. Jim Knowles might be bringing in a guy to help coach the secondary and lighten the load on Kerry Coombs. I’ve heard that he might be bringing someone he has worked with in the past to Columbus.

There have been rumblings that moves could be made fairly quickly after the Rose Bowl and it seems that’s what could happen. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of these moves made before the end of the week. It makes sense to get staff in place as quickly as possible. There’s no point in waiting now.

These staff changes will hopefully make this a better team next season. The offense is pretty darn good, but the defense was abysmal at multiple points this season. Fixing all issues has to be Ryan Day’s number one priority, and so far he’s made moves to do that.
