Ohio State basketball: Buckeyes can get a top-three seed
By Ryan Stano
We know that the Ohio State basketball team will be returning to action on Tuesday. It will be the first game in over two weeks that they have played due to COVID issues within the program. They should be pretty darn rested once Tuesday’s game against New Orleans rolls around.
From what we’ve seen from this team so far, I really think that the Buckeyes have a chance to be a top-three seed in the NCAA Tournament. They have everything that a team needs to be successful in March, except for one guard who can consistently create his own shot.
If not for this pause, I might be saying they could possibly get a two or one-seed. They very well could have beaten Kentucky if they had been able to play that game. Ohio State also may have kicked that habit of playing down to the level of competition.
Chris Holtmann better hope that his team can get a high seed in the Tournament. He needs to finally have some success in the postseason. His recruiting classes have been excellent and his regular-season results have been great, but he needs some postseason accolades.
We’re going to find out if a top-three seed is possible once Big Ten play starts. That will be happening this weekend. Even though the Big Ten is down as a conference this season, there are still plenty of physical teams in the conferences that can win any game.
I’m just really excited to see this team play again. I like how this team plays and I like how hard they play for each other. After this weekend, Ohio State football games will be over so it will be all basketball consumption from here until the Spring.
It’d be nice for this Ohio State basketball team to win a game big after their long pause.
