Ohio State Football: OSU has most Pro Bowlers in NFL
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football program has sent a bunch of great players to the NFL in recent years. That’s part of the reason Ryan Day and his coaching staff can recruit so well. That NFL success has really helped the Buckeyes recruit to an extremely high level.
The latest news from Buckeyes in the NFL will only help their recruiting efforts. Pro Bowl rosters were recently announced. Former Buckeyes Nick Bosa, Joey Bosa, Denzel Ward, Marshon Lattimore, Cameron Hayward, and Corey Linsley were all named to the Pro Bowl.
Six Pro Bowlers is the most that any school can claim in Pro Bowlers this season. No other school in the country has more alumni named to the game. That shows you the amount of talent that the Ohio State football program puts into the league every year.
Ohio State will certainly use this in recruiting tactics next season when they get back on the trail. It makes sense for them to use it too. It’s interesting that five of the six players are on the defensive side of the ball. It’s interesting because of how much offensive talent the Buckeyes have had in recent years.
This won’t be the only year where the Buckeyes send a bunch of players to the Pro Bowl. They are a powerhouse college football program that keeps producing elite talent. It’s up to Ryan Day to surround himself with coaches who can develop that talent.
It’s always great to see former Buckeyes get the recognition they deserve for the success they have at the next level.
