The Ohio State football team will be playing in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. They’re going to be taking on Utah in that game. It’s not the game that the Buckeyes wanted to be playing in, but it’s still a game that takes on meaning for a lot of these players.

A question in college football these days has become how many players are going to sit out the Bowl game if they aren’t in the College Football Playoff. With the way things are now, that’s something that everyone is always watching for. It’s something we’re watching for this one too.

As of now, no one has opted out of the Rose Bowl. All of the players that have been interviewed have said that they didn’t want to leave Ohio State with a bad taste in their mouth. That taste is there right now after losing to TTUN in the final game of the regular season.

Ohio State will need all of the players they can get if they want to beat Utah. We’ve seen the Utes destroy Oregon twice, one of the teams that beat the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes need all of the help that they can get if they want to end the season on a positive note.

It is a little surprising that no one has decided to sit out yet. There are plenty of players who have a first-round grade for the NFL Draft. I’m a little surprised that at least one of them hasn’t decided to sit out so that they don’t risk injury and have their stock fall.

We will keep you posted if some players decide to in fact sit out the Bowl game. Right now though, it looks like the Buckeyes are full steam ahead for the last game of the season.
