Where will the Ohio State football team play next? That’s not a question that we are used to asking ourselves this early in December. Usually, we find out where they will be playing their CFP game after the Big Ten Championship Game. Instead, they are sitting at home this weekend.

So where could they end up playing, and who could their opponent be? Let’s start with the most obvious scenario. If TTUN beats Iowa in the Big Ten Championship, then the Buckeyes would head to the Rose Bowl to take on the winner of the Pac-12 Championship. That could mean a rematch with Oregon.

If TTUN loses though, then things change. Ohio State could either play in the Fiesta Bowl or the Peach Bowl. In the Peach Bowl, they could end up facing someone like Alabama if they lose in the SEC Championship Game, or Ole Miss if Bama takes care of business.

In the Fiesta Bowl, they would likely take on the loser of the Big 12 Championship game, or perhaps Cincinnati if they lost their conference title game. A battle for Ohio would certainly be enticing, but much less satisfying than we thought it would be just a few weeks ago.

No matter what bowl game they end up at, we’ll have to see who decides to play in the game. There always seem to be players that want to sit out the bowl games. It would be interesting to see what players decided to sit out and prepare for the NFL Draft.

Motivation is always a question when it comes to these types of bowl games. I have a feeling that this Ohio State football team wants to get that ugly taste of last weekend out of their mouth, so they should come ready to go against whoever they face.

Next. The offensive line needs true guards. dark

We’ll let you know once the bowl bids come out after this weekend where the Buckeyes end up.
