Ohio State Football deserves all trash talk thrown at them
By Ryan Stano
You’ve probably seen the headlines by now. Jim Harbaugh calling out Ryan Day. Aidan Hutchison saying that the Buckeyes didn’t respect them. They all deserve everything being said. The Ohio State Football team deserves all of the trash talk being hurled at them after Saturday’s disaster.
That disaster was not something that was supposed to happen. Ohio State is the more talented team, yet they got manhandled up and down the field. They couldn’t do anything at the point of attack on offense or defense. It was the second time this season they couldn’t stop the run.
Oregon clearly gave TTUN the blueprint on how to beat the Buckeyes. You have to be physical up the middle, and they were going to fold. That’s what happened in that early-season loss to Oregon and that’s what happened on Saturday against TTUN.
The difference between these two games is that one was the second game of the year and one was the last game against your rival. There’s no reason why Ohio State shouldn’t have been more prepared for the rushing attack that Harbaugh’s team came out and delivered.
The Ohio State football program is at somewhat of a crossroads now. They have to go back to the drawing board on the defensive side of the ball. The fanbase talked a lot of trash coming into this game and got it thrown back in their face, as they should. They deserve everything that’s being said right now.
Until Ryan Day fixes his team and beats TTUN again, they will keep getting the same kind of talk their way. It’s what the Buckeyes did for years against them so it’s only fair that they dish it right back out.
It’s not something I was hoping to see anytime soon. Unfortunately, this is where we’re at.
