C.J. Stroud locks up the Heisman
According to most experts, the Heisman Trophy competition is a two-horse race between C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young from Alabama. Both are great quarterbacks with strong numbers going for them, but the difference between the two is that Stroud plays teams ranked highly the remainder of the year.
Putting up atmospheric numbers against highly-ranked opponents in the biggest games of the year is what typically separates players in the Heisman race. Stroud put in a dismantling of Spartans last week, and another impressive performance against the Wolverines will continue to push him to the easy decision.
Stroud rushes for over 20 yards
Even though he is currently the leader in the Heisman race, fans have been upset with him at various points throughout the season. With many fans calling to bench him at the beginning of the year when he showed that he wasn’t perfect in his first season starting, that has led to fans wishing he would run the ball more.
When he is passing for 500 yards each game, I’m not sure why they want him to run the ball, however, I think this is the game the remainder of those fans get their wish. When it matters most, Stroud is going to do what needs to be done to win. Combined with Ryan Day holding some plays specifically for this game, Stroud will have several rushes and break a big one to end the day with over 20 yards on the ground.
