Jameson Williams criticizes Ohio State Football fans on Instagram
By Ryan Stano
Former Ohio State football player Jameson Williams has been doing very well for Alabama since transferring there this Spring. Some could say he’s been their best offensive player. He’s at the very least been their best wide receiver since going to Tuscaloosa.
Apparently, though, he has no love for Buckeye fans. According to a rant on Instagram, he no longer has an affinity for Ohio State football fans, saying that when he graduates “I’m going to say Bama”. Williams thinks that fans “disowned him when they heard he was transferring.
I can’t speak for all Buckeye fans, but I am pretty sure that’s not what happened at all. The overwhelming majority of Ohio State fans knew that his transferring was what was best for all parties involved. It allowed more talented receivers to get playing time in Columbus and allowed Williams to get the playing time he wanted at Bama.
Williams has played very well for the Crimson Tide. He has earned himself some money if he decides to leave for the NFL after this season. It has worked out for both the university and Williams. I’m not sure why he has to take to Instagram to take shots at Buckeye fans.
Personally, now I want to see him do poorly. I wished him nothing but the best when he initially left. Now, I want him to play as poorly as possible. I always hope that Bama loses, so that won’t change. But now I want Williams to have a bad game in a loss as well.
It’s a shame because he seemed like a really nice kid here in Columbus. But you can’t take shots at your old fanbase and expect not to get some talk back your way. These two teams could potentially meet in a CFP semi-final game as well, so Williams might have to put up or shut up.
I’d still take the receivers Ohio State has now every day of the week over him.
